Dr Christian Aldridge is a Consultant Dermatologist. He works in Prince Charles Hospital , South Wales. He runs private skin cancer clinics in Cardiff, Hensol, Carmarthen and London. He obtained a BSc in physiology in 1993 and subsequently completed his medical training at Cardiff Medical School in 1998.
After four years of general medical training Dr Aldridge specialised in Dermatology and achieved Specialist Registration in 2007 as a Consultant Dermatologist. He was appointed as a Consultant at Prince Charles Hospital , Merthyr Tydfil in 2007.
Dr Aldridge is Chair of the All Wales Skin Cancer Network. He has previously been the Lead clinician for the local Skin Cancer MDT (Multi-disciplinary Team) and lead on the Teledermatology service development in his Trust. He is currently the Chair for the All Wales Dermatology Audit Group.
His main interest is in Skin cancer , mole surveillance and skin cancer surgery. He has published in this field and remains committed towards early diagnosis and prompt intervention in the management of skin cancer. Coupled with this is his interest in aiding the national charity Melanoma UK as their dermatology adviser.
Through this charity he has been able to screen high-profile sports teams ( Welsh Rugby Union Team, Somerset Cricket Club) for early skin cancer changes.
He has also been part of the “White van Tan” campaign , working in conjunction with Confused.com to raise awareness of skin cancer risks in drivers.
